ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Soccer fans of St. Louis are being encouraged to be at Ballpark Village on Thursday when the St. Louis Cardinals and U.S. Soccer make a "special announcement."
Head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team Gregg Berhalter, president of the Cardinals Bill DeWitt III, St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson, and other St. Louis soccer legends and dignitaries will be on stage FOX Sports Midwest Live! inside Ballpark Village at 3 p.m., Thursday.
There has been no confirmation on what the announcement is.
The U.S. men's team is coming off a loss in the final of the Gold Cup to Mexico earlier this month. They have a couple of international friendly games scheduled this year, including an Aug. 3 match against Ireland in California and a another on Sept. 6 against Mexico in New Jersey.
In November 2015, the men played at Busch Stadium for a FIFA World Cup qualifier against St. Vincent and The Grenadines. The U.S. Women's National Team has twice played at the home field of the Cardinals, most recently was earlier this summer before winning the 2019 World Cup in France.
