TOWN & COUNTRY, Mo. (KMOX) — A medical issue is believed to have helped cause a driver to plow through the front of a pizza place in West County.

It happened shortly before 11 a.m. Monday at a gas station on Woods Mill Road. The driver ended up crashing through the garage of the car wash, plowed through a snowbank, and then smashed through the brick facade of Rich and Charlies.

Town and County Police say the driver was also unfamiliar with how the hand controls worked in the vehicle.

West County Fire Chief Jeff Sadtler told KMOX News it was fortunate no one else was injured.

"He was being evaulated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries and whatever the medical condition was."

Rich and Charlies was closed Monday.
