ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright's family officially got a little bigger today. He and his wife Jenny completed the adoption process for their first son, Caleb Adam Wainwright.

MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch spoke with Wainwright on Thursday after he brought Caleb into the Cardinals clubhouse at Busch Stadium, as the team had the day off.

Lots of cool things happening lately but nothing compares to this. @Mrswaino and I have been waiting anxiously to announce that we have added a beautiful little boy to our family. So, I’d like to be the first to introduce Caleb Adam Wainwright to all of you! Praise the Lord! pic.twitter.com/akILgy6sEl

"I went and got my little boy and I brought him into the clubhouse," Wainwright told MLB.com. "Even though he can probably barely see across the room right now -- couldn’t see hardly in front of his face probably a couple weeks ago -- it was cool to walk him through there, like, ‘Yep, yeah, this is what happens after games that you win.' I got to introduce him to everybody. That was pretty neat."

"We've got the room. We've got the love."Shortly after finalizing the adoption of Caleb Adam Wainwright on Thursday, #STLCards pitcher Adam Wainwright spoke exclusively to @MLB and @stltoday about the family's adoption journey. Here's their story: https://t.co/38l9SE18pz pic.twitter.com/QdHdNgpwvE

The Wainwright's already have four daughters, who are well known for their extravagant Halloween costumes

Caleb was born about two months ago, reports Langosch, but the family waited until the paper work went through before officially announcing the newest member of their family.
