ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Both of Officer Michael Langsdorf's teenage children spoke in front of a maximum-capicity crowd at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis at Monday's funeral service for the fallen officer.
The hour-long ceremony was filled by police officers, family and friends, as Langsdorf's son Caleb called his father a hero. His younger sister Olivia had trouble getting through her speech, so Caleb stepped in to help. You can watch their full eulogies in the video above.
Immediately following the funeral, one of the largest processions this city has ever seen began its route to Langsdorf's final resting place in Resurrection Cemetery in south St. Louis County.
Officer Langsdorf of the North County Police Cooperative was killed last Sunday afternoon in the St. Louis suburb of Wellston after responding to a call about someone trying to pass a bad check at a small market. Langsdorf was a 40-year-old father of two.
