ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -  It seems more work needs to be done to get St. Louis County police officers equipped with dash and body cams.

There's a $2.8 million proposal to equip 600 county officers with body cameras, as well as provide dash cameras.

Councilwoman Lisa Clancy isn't quite ready to give the proposal her full support, in part because of questions over how the recorded video would be handled.

"I would like to see more of this firmed up and even approved before I feel like I'm comfortable fully supporting this," Clancy says.

The man who proposed the bill, Councilman Ernie Trakas, says they can work out the issues as they go along.

"We've been debating this now for some period of time and I respectfully think we need to move forward," Trakas says.

It's unclear when the proposal could be passed.
