ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The man accused of killing a St. Louis County police officer sat in court, while the jury is shown pictures of what he's accused of doing, Tuesday in the downtown Clayton courthouse. Defendant Trenton Forster sat calmly while the medical examiner showed the jury autopsy photos of the body of Officer Blake Snyder.
Snyder was killed by a single bullet, while attempting to approach Forster about a peace disturbance call in the early morning hours of October 6, 2016. The prosecution is seeking a first-degree murder conviction, saying Forster told several people of his plan to get a gun and shoot a police officer.
The defense hopes to win a second-degree murder conviction – with the possibility of parole – by showing Forster had mental and drug problems.
