ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — One of the St. Louis area's biggest companies is growing.

It's Enterprise Holdings, which we know as the world's largest rental car company. However, the local institution is diversifying, as Enterprise is growing into the tech and service space.

Enterprise is buying Deem, a San Francisco-based firm whose travel booking software is used by more than 50,000 corporations to manage their employees' trips.

What it does is centralize trip planning and booking, lets employees book trips with pre-set restrictions. They say it heads off wrong bookings and overbudget expense reports.

Enterprise Chief Strategy officer Ggreg Stubblefield says in a statement says Deem brings both software and the tech talent that created it.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Deem will continue to work independently in Silicon Valley, with its new owners from Clayton, Missouri.
