St. Louis, MO (KMOX) - If you're shopping for the latest internet-connected devices on Black Friday, security experts warn, you get what you pay for.
Matt Valites, Threat Research Manager for Cisco Talos says you may be risking security to get a better deal, "for hardware devices there are so many IoT devices now out there, if you're purchasing the cheaper versions of these you're probably not going to get things like security updates, or regular patching or possibly even protection of your data on the back end from the company."
Valites says to make a device cheaper, some manufacturers cut out security features.
