The St. Louis Wheel will be at Union Station, which is currently under construction to create the St. Louis Aquarium, also slated to open later this year.
According to the St. Louis Wheel Instagram page, the wheel will have 42 climate-controlled gondolas, and 1 VIP gondola.
During each 15-minute ride, passengers will take three or four rotations, according to Lodging Hospitality Management Chairman Bob O'Loughlin. The gondolas' heating and air conditioning will allow the Ferris wheel to be operational year-round.
O'Loughlin says the wheel should arrive in May, and welcome its first passengers in mid-July. In addition to the St. Louis Wheel, there will be a carousel for younger children and a putt-putt golf course.
