January 17, 2019 As the prizes of the offseason, Bryce Harper and Manny Machado have yet to sign contracts, Goold says there have been a plethora of pleas from Cardinals nation in his Twitter mentions and emails begging for St. Louis to cash out and sign Harper. Although Goold has no pull in the front office, he had an opinion about the 26-year-old who's been expected to sign a record-breaking deal this offseason.
You can watch part of their conversation in the video above and listen to the full conversation at the bottom of this page.
We also want to remind all baseball fans, coming up this weekend is the 61st annual St. Louis Baseball Writers' Dinner on January 20th, with special guests like Bob Costas, Lee Smith and Vira Clemente, the widow of Hall of Famer Roberto Clement.
