Jefferson City, MO (KMOX) - Health insurance companies generated the most complaints with state regulators last year.
The Missouri Department of Insurance has compiled an online Consumer Complaint Index.
The index rates auto, health, homeowner and other types of insurance carriers based on the number of complaints received, whether that is higher or lower than the industry standard, and the top reasons for complaints.
The top complaint against health insurance companies was for denial of claims, followed by delays and pharmacy benefits.
