FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (AP) - When we met Rees Jones at Bethpage Black for the 101st PGA Championship, he was still wearing the cap of last year's tournament – the one that put St. Louis on a national stage thanks to the raucous crowds that showed up at Bellerive County Club.
"Boy what a thrilling event and boy what a sports town," Jones, a New Jersey native, said. "I mean, St. Louis is probably the best sports town in the nation and it sure proved itself in that final round when they applaued Tiger as he walked up after his round and cheer Brook Koepka's victory."
He also explained to our Tom Ackerman the reason why he's a long-time St. Louis Cardinals fan because he went to college at both Yale and Harvard with the current chairman of the club, Bill DeWitt Jr.
