Jackie Joyner-Kersee of East St. Louis still ranks among UCLA's career basketball leaders in scoring, rebounding and games played. In the Olympics from 1984 to 1996, she dominated the long jump and heptathlon winning a total of 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze. She still holds the world and Olympic records in the heptathlon, and the American records in the long jump and the 50-meter hurdles. Sports Illustrated named Jackie Joyner Kersee, of ESL, the top female athlete of the 20th century.
