HILLSBORO, Mo. (KMOX) - Lightning struck the fire house in Hillsboro, Missouri just before 9 on Saturday morning.
Firefighter Kyle Huskey was there when the storm went through, "There was lightning and some thunder. Next thing you know we heard a really loud lightning strike. Our power went out. We rushed out to the (engine) bay and it was filled with smoke."
A piece of ceiling fell, and a water pipe elbow blew off.
They lost a television, a phone, and some computer equipment, but nobody was injured.
Huskey says they had backup from other departments, as they assessed the damage, "We had mutual aid respond to our first alarm. They came in and helped us, made sure everything was up and running before they left. We thank them a lot."
