ST. LOUIS (KMOX) updated Wednesday at 9 a.m. — St. Louis metro area residents may want to limit their outside exposure for the rest of the week as a major heat wave is expected to cover our region Wednesday through Saturday.
The
National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch and predicts afternoon and evening heat index values between 100 and 110 due to hot and humid conditions.

July 15, 2019 People are asked to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. It is also recommended to wear loose-fitting, lightweight and light-colored clothing to reflect the sun.

July 16, 2019 It is advised to take care of outdoor activities before the midday heat arrives and reschedule strenuous activities, including exercise, to avoid the hottest times of the day. Never leave pets or babies inside cars.
Spend time in air-conditioned spaces, and find a nearby shelter if necessary.
