MAPLEWOOD, Mo. (KMOX) — Maplewood police are trying to find out who's trying to kill the former residents of an apartment that's been shot at twice in the last two nights.

After someone fired at least 17 shots at the apartment in the 7400 block of Commonwealth Sunday night, the people living there moved out.

The following night's shooter/shooters apparently didn't know that, because over 40 rounds were fired at the apartment at 11:30 p.m. Monday.

"The fire was concentrated at the bedroom window of the unit that was targeted," Maplewood Police Lt. John LeClerc told KMOX's Brian Kelly. "The gunfire on several occasions went through the window, then the interior wall, and then through the interior wall of the neighboring apartment."

Lt. LeClerc tells KMOX a man in the neighboring apartment was not hit either time. He says based on the shell casings, last night's shots came from a handgun and AR-15 type weapon.
