CAHOKIA, Ill. (KMOX) - Illinois State Police say a U.S. Marshal task force member shot and wounded a person trying to avoid being served a warrant, Friday morning.

It happened on Cahokia Street in Cahokia.

Troopers say two persons drove away from the scene in a silver SUV, later spotted on Route 3 in Sauget.

That vehicle ran into the back of a semi truck... and the two occupants fled.

Police captured them a short time later.

State Police are investigating the use of force.

They say the wounded person's injuries are not life-threatening.
