CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOX) — New flu cases appear to be leveling off in St. Louis County.
Now this doesn't mean the worst of the flu season is over. Health officials warn it could always spark up again.
However, the latest numbers from the St. Louis County Health Department show a continued decline in new cases for the third week in a row. The peak week so far this season was the last week of the year -- with 186 confirmed cases. This past week, that number fell to 156.
Flu activity statewide in both Missouri and Illinois, meanwhile, is listed as regional -- not nearly as bad as the widespread designation now being seen in some of our neighboring states.
