ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Cardinals announced on Saturday that pitchers Ricardo Sánchez and Génesis Cabrera tested positive for COVID-19. 

The team says there are more tests pending and they expect to know more on Sunday. 


A message from President of Baseball Operations, John Mozeliak: "We did have two players test positive for COVID-19, Ricardo Sánchez and Génesis Cabrera. We also have a few tests pending and will know more tomorrow."

Manager Mike Shildt told local media that both Sánchez and Cabrera are asymptomatic.

The Cardinals began Summer Camp on Friday with about 40 players participating at Busch Stadium on Friday.

Also on Friday, reports came out that multiple St. Louis Blues players also tested positive for COVID-19. It's unclear which Blues players tested positive and practices on Saturday and Sunday were canceled.
