ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — Washington University is issuing a crime alert for students.
It comes after a weekend of robberies around campus in and near the Skinker-DeBaliviere neighborhood.
The first robbery was Friday at 2 a.m. on Westminster.
On Saturday, two Wash U students were walking near Westminster and Laurel when two men flashed a gun and took their possessions. The men ran to a car parked nearby and drove away.
Then, in the 5800 block of Pershing, a similar robbery took place.
Later, in the 6000 block of Pershing, a Wash U student was sitting in his car with the window open when two men walked up. One of them punched him through the window, then opened the door and robbed him. They also ran to a car and drove away.
Wash U is offering safety escorts for students walking to their apartments. The school also advises students to carry a whistle.
