ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Adam Wainwright likes to brag about the "giving heart, giving soul" of St. Louis.
The latest example happened Aug. 30 for the St. Louis Cardinals pitcher's annual Big League Impact Fantasy Football Draft, which has now raised more than $2.5 million for his global initiative fund.
But it’s not just the St. Louis community pitching in, it’s also some of its biggest stars like Ozzie Smith, Pat Maroon, Kyle McClellan and Waino’s teammates, Michael Wacha and Jack Flaherty. They were there to participate in this year's draft with dozens of others who donated to Waino's cause.
Last week, Pat Maroon was at Busch Stadium for a charity fantasy football event hosted by Adam Wainwright. We got the chance to talk to the former #STLBlues forward about his new team and what a return to St. Louis will be like this season@OHDSTL @KMOXSports pic.twitter.com/tER7q9ll2O
