ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A pair of major St. Louis-area grocery store chains have announced they will close their doors early on Monday due to the winter storm watch in effect until midnight.

Dierbergs announced it’ll close its stores at 7 p.m. and Schnucks announced it'll close all metro St. Louis stores at 8 p.m. They plan to reopen the stores on Tuesday morning.

Posts from both stores on social media say they are taking precautions from the winter weather dumping snow and sleet in the area.
