Hall of Fame broadcaster Jack Buck calls the final strike for Bob Gibson's only no-hitter of his career on this day in 1971.
Willie Stargell was Gibson's 10th strikeout victim to end the game as the Cardinals beat the eventual World Series champion Pittsburgh Pirates 11-0.
The Cardinals' Hall of Fame pitcher had won the Cy Young and MVP awards in 1968 and won another Cy Young trophy in 1970, but it took till his 13th big-league season to throw a no-hitter.
The two time World Series champion retired after the 1975 season. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1981.
