ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs weekend series has been postponed.
The news comes hours after it was announced that at least one test from a Cardinals player came back positive on Friday. Nine players and 7 staff members on the St. Louis travel party have tested positive within the last week.
That makes it 10 games in a row that have been postponed for the Cardinals due to the outbreak. They now officially have the most games postponed this season, passing the Miami Marlins who missed eight games due to an outbreak of 21 members of the traveling party, including at least 18 players.
On Wednesday the Cardinals returned home from Milwaukee where they had been self-quarantined in their hotel for nearly a week. The 13 people who previously tested positive were already back in St. Louis.
Since arriving in St. Louis, the team had two practices at Busch Stadium and have been tested every day.
