(KMOX) — We first told you about a person in Illinois who died after vaping becoming the first death in the country from the trendy habit.
This week, across the state of Missouri, a Clay County woman has sued an e-cigarette company claiming they hooked her daughter on nicotine.
Dan Weinbaum from Kansas City partner station KMBZ reports:
A federal lawsuit filed this week alleges that Juul Labs, makers of small vape pens, marketed their products at teens.
Mindy Boyd says in the complaint that her 14-year-old daughter started vaping using Juul products last year — and became addicted to nicotine and hasn't been able to quit.
Juul denies the accusation, saying it never marketed to children and doesn't want non-users to try their products. And the vape maker says it launched a plan last year to combat underage vaping.
