Pot shortage at only dispensary in St. Louis area

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) - The only marijuana dispensary in the Metro East is dealing with a shortage of recreational pot.

HCI Alternatives in Collinsville is suspending sales today in order to build their inventory back up. They expect to reopen on Tuesday.

Medical marijuana patients will still be able to purchase products in-store on Monday.

The dispensary has experienced massive demand since the legalization of marijuana in Illinois at the start of the year.

HCI Alternatives will be changing its name to Illinois Supply and Provisions on Jan. 27, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
