EARTH CITY, Mo. (KMOX) - St. Louis County Executive Sam Page wants Rams Way to go away.

The small street that runs in front of the practice facility the former St. Louis Rams used in Earth City became "Rams Way" in May of 1996, just one year after the team arrived in the Gateway City.More than 20 years later, County Executive Sam Page is ready to move on, just like the NFL did. He wants the street to be called "Athletic Way," noting that young athletes train there for sports like soccer and lacrosse, and the XFL’s St. Louis BattleHawks use it now.

Page released his proposal on Twitter:

— County Executive Sam Page (@DrSamPage) October 23, 2019 He also cited "preliminary numbers" show it's possible that more total people drive down this small Earth City road, than fans that attend Rams games in Los Angeles. In the end, unfortunately, it might be Stan Kroenke who gets the last laugh. A court ruled this year that he is clear to purchase the former Rams Park for just one dollar in 2024.

The 27-acre property, which includes indoor and outdoor practice fields, and office space is currently owned by the Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority and used by Lou Fusz Athletic.
