HILLSBORO, MO (KMOX)-Less than a day after enacting a mask mandate, the Jefferson County Health Center Board has rescinded the ordinance, after questions were raised over whether it had followed proper procedures for notifying the public.
The board rescinded the mandate with a five-nothing vote during an emergency session Friday afternoon. The board had approved the mandate Thursday night.
The proposed ordinance has now been posted online and distributed to the community. The next meeting to discuss it hasn't been scheduled, yet.
Meanwhile, nine and 17 year old boys are among 30 newly confirmed covid-19 cases in Franklin County, MO. The county is also reporting its 21st death, a 60-year-old man.
Half of the new cases involve people between 20 and 49 years of age.
