ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The fourth annual Winterfest opens at noon Saturday, Nov. 23 at Kiener Plaza in downtown St. Louis. This year's festival includes the ice rink that's been a staple of the event, along with the Wintermarket.
New this year are a row plastic igloos that include loveseats, battery-operated candles and catered food.
"They're geodesic domes, like mini-Climatrons that are heated and you can rent out," says Gateway Arch Park Foundation Executive Director Ryan McClure.
Winterest will be open from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Fridays and from noon until 8 p.m. on weekends with extended hours from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1. This year's festival will run nine weeks, through the NHL All-Star Game on January 26. McClure says they're working with the NHL on plans for that final weekend. "Stay tuned on that because there are going to be a lot of things that happen around that weekend."
