ATLANTA (KMOX) - Before St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty threw a single pitch in Game 5 of the NLDS he had a 10-0 lead.
Marcell Ozuna, Tommy Edman, Dexter Fowler and Kolten Wong had run-scoring hits. Matt Carpenter and Flaherty brought a run home with bases-loaded walks. Then the final run was a wild pitch after a strikeout by Ozuna.
The Braves are on course to tie a MLB record with a 10th straight postseason first-round loss.
The winner of this game heads to the NL Championship Series and will face the winner of the other NLDS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals. If both Washington and St. Louis win, then Game 1 would be in St. Louis on Friday. If Los Angeles and St. Louis win, then Game 1 would be in LA on Friday.
