CHICAGO (KMOX) - The state of Illinois will be under a stay-at-home order until at least May 31, according to a release from Gov. J.B. Pritzker's office Thursday. Pritzker also announced the order will be modified, starting on May 1.
Some of the modifications include a phased re-opening of some state parks, greenhouses, garden centers and nurseries will re-open as essential businesses and golf will be permitted under strict safety guidelines. Pritzker warned that if the number of cases begins to spike after making some changes, the modifications will be restricted again.
The modifications also include a new mandatory order that face masks will be required in all public indoor spaces.
Pritzker says models are projecting the peak of coronavirus cases in Illinois will happen in late April and early May.
