ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - While healthcare officials here and nationwide keep an eye on possible coronavirus cases, the total number of influenza cases continues to grow across the greater St. Louis area. The latest flu numbers show the biggest weekly totals yet this season. For the week ending Jan. 19, there were 517 new flu cases in St. Louis County – for a total so far of more than 2,100. In that same time span in St. Charles County, there were 173 new cases – for a total of 936. There's been a total of nearly 19,000 influenza cases statewide so far – with 16 influenza-associated deaths in Missouri this flu season. Missouri health officials report one case of possible coronavirus was tested in the state -- but found to be negative.
