COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) -- Illinois State Police are investigating after a man died in the custody of the Madison County Sheriff's Department this week. Jason Strahan, 41, of Benld was allegedly in Williamson late Monday night acting erratically and trying to damage cars. Police say he was combative and eventually arrested -- but they used a taser during the altercation. Strahan became unresponsive shortly after that, he was taken to an area hospital but couldn't be revived. Autopsy and toxicology tests are pending.© 2019 KMOX (Entercom). All rights reserved.
