Marcell Ozuna signs 1-year deal with Braves

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Former St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Marcell Ozuna has signed a 1-year deal worth $18 million with the Atlanta Braves.

The deal is worth just $200,000 more than the qualifying offer presented by the Cardinals at the end of last season. Earlier in the winter, Ozuna and his agent were reportedly looking for at least a three-year contract.

Ozuna, 29, hit .241 with 29 home runs and 89 RBI in 2019 season and ranked among the major league leaders in the highest percentage of hard-hit balls, according to Statcast.
