ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Sorry Missouri residents, but this isn't going to help your self-esteem.
Zippia, a company that helps those looking to change or advance in their careers, studied all 50 states in the U.S. to find which states were the "most attractive."
Missouri ranked No. 49 and Illinois was No. 21.
"Attraction isn’t just surface level," the study stated. "People are attracted to partners who are successful and well-educated. After all, what’s more beautiful than a nice mind? To measure these, we looked at income levels from the Census’ ACS. Income is correlated with education and while money isn’t the only measure of success, it’s not a bad place to start."
