JEFFERSON CITY (KMOX) - A summertime staple in Missouri will go on as planned despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic."It has only been canceled once in the past 100 years," said Missouri Governor Mike Parson. "I don't want to be the governor that makes it the second time."He's referring to the Missouri State Fair. He mentioned last week the fair wouldn't be canceled, but said there were still logistics to work out.
Some of those, according to the Department of Agriculture Director Chris Chinn, include fewer entertainment options."The only major feature that will not be coming back this year will be our concert lineup," Chinn said during a Thursday news conference. "Our livestock shows, our carnival, our camping, they're all on for the 2020 State Fair."This year's fair is scheduled to run from August 13 through 23.© 2020 KMOX (Entercom). All rights reserved.
