JEFFERSON CITY (KMOX) — As we told you yesterday, Missouri Auditor and Democrat Nicole Galloway is running for governor.
Our Michael Calhoun was the only reporter to get a direct reaction from the current governor.
"When you're this far out and you're running negative already, that's pretty sad. If I were to give her advice, I'd tell her to talk about her accomplishments, what she's done and what she's going to do as governor and not worry about what the (current) governor is doing."
Gov. Mike Parson did not campaign for his current seat. He was appointed to it in the wake of the Eric Greitens scandal. 2020 would be his first campaign for governor.
There's been no re-election announcement yet from Gov. Mike Parson, so could one be coming soon?
"I think in September, we'll make an announcement. Around the first of September."
How does he feel about his tenure in office so far?
"I feel really good, I feel like we've started on the right path and we're going to continue on that. If I'm fortunate to win that next election, we'll talk about what's best for Missouri."
