'You never know:' Moolah Theater owner says there’s a chance it might reopen

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The owner of the first movie theatre in St Louis to offer big leather chairs and alcohol explains why it’s closing. Owner Harman Moseley says the Moolah Theater in Midtown "died of a thousand cuts."

Since the coronavirus pandemic forced theaters to close, people are watching movies at home.

"I did my crying yesterday when I faced the reality," Moseley says. "Because we had so much more good than bad from this place. It's been a pleasure, but it's been a lot harder as of recent."

Moseley says there’s still a chance he might reopen the Moolah, comparing himself to a Phoenix that likes to rise from the ashes.

He announced on Facebook on Wednesday evening that the theater will no be reopening after 15 years in business.
