ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - There seemed to be some confusion from St. Louis Cardinals players, who had reportedly planned to take a knee during the pregame ceremonies on Opening Day at Busch Stadium on Friday. One Pittsburgh Pirates player did kneel throughout the national anthem, but everyone on the Cardinals side stood, after some started to kneel, but then stood back up after noticing others not taking a knee.

Earlier in the day during media availability it was implied there would be a unified kneeling before the anthem was sung. Other teams around the MLB have taken a knee.
Players rushed to get onto the field and to lineup in numerical order so the pregame introductions could start at 6:40 p.m.
