ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Some members of the St. Louis County Council are pushing for the County Executive to gradually phase out the stay-at-home order beginning Monday.
Councilman Tim Fitch says it's no longer just a health issue—it's an economic issue.

"The public needs to know that St. Louis County government has a way to reopen," Fitch says. "Instead of saying indefinite, we put some hard dates and I will tell you that the County Executive after he looked at it, talked about it with us, he said, 'We will probably agree on the substance of the plan, what we may disagree on is the timeline.'"
Fitch was joined by Councilmen Mark Harder and Ernie Trakas in calling for the county to start to open things up between now and the end of June. Their plan includes the reopening of businesses such as restaurants, retail stores, gyms and places of worship on Monday. It states businesses should refer to the "Show-Me Strong Recovery Plan" from Missouri Gov. Mike Parson for details on operational changes, occupancy limit explanations and worker screening.

Some of those regulations include mask requirements and daily screenings of all employees. The plan includes all businesses, parks and pools to be open with some social distancing policies recommend by the end of June.
