ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Blues have acquired three-time All-Star defenseman Justin Faulk from the Carolina Hurricanes via a trade. The Blues sent defenseman Joel Edmundson, forward prospect Dominik Bokk and a seventh-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft to the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Blues also acquired a fifth-round pick in 2020 in the deal.
Faulk spoke with St. Louis media via a conference call Tuesday afternoon, saying it's nice to move into a group that's "feeling pretty good and confident" after a Stanley Cup Championship.
"I think I shoot the puck pretty well and have scored a good amount of goals in my career on the power play, so just trying to bring a game that's tough to play against," Faulk says. "I like to play the game hard too ... I'm going to try to be consistent in doing whatever the team asks of me."
"I would like to thank Joel his four seasons with the Blues," said Armstrong. "He was an important part of what we accomplished here, and we wish him nothing but the best.
"We are excited to add Justin to our core group for the next eight years. He is a top-four defenseman who averages over twenty-three minutes a game and we are confident he will be a strong addition to our club."
