ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko will return to St. Louis to meet with team doctors for further evaluation regarding his surgically-repaired shoulder.
He missed Games 3 and 4 of this series. Tarasenko’s status will be updated on Monday. Head coach Craig Berube told said on Tuesday that he's not jumping to conclusions on how serious a situation this could be for Tarasenko.
"When you get something done like that and you’re out nine months, you’re going to have some issues when you come back no matter what," Berube says. "We’ll see what shows up here and we can go from there.
"He’s not feeling right, so that’s why he’s going to get it looked at. It is concerning, but we’ve got to wait and see."
Tarasenko returned to the lineup vs. Chicago on July 29 and played five games in Edmonton after missing 61 games after undergoing surgery. He was injured on October 24, 2019 vs. Los Angeles. Before being injured he had 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) in 10 games.
The Russian winger scored 11 goals and added 15 assists on the Blues' Stanley Cup Championship run last year.
In four games since the start of the 2020 playoffs, he has zero points and is a minus-3.
With a win on Monday night, the Blues have tied the First Round series against the Vancouver Canucks at 2-2. Game 5 is set for Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. CT.
