Our traffic reporter Rodger Brand reports police say there has been a death caused by the accident on I-70 near 170. He also says there is no timetable yet for when the westbound lanes will reopen.

KMOX's earlier reporting:

Westbound Interstate-70 has been shut down between Hanley Road and 170 since a little before 7 a.m. Friday due to a multiple-vehicle accident that includes a tractor-trailer.

There are also delays on southbound 170, as drivers heading east on I-70 are slowing for the accident in the opposite lanes.

As you can see all lanes are blocked at this time westbound 70 before 170 due to this multi-car injury accident... @kmoxnews #stltraffic pic.twitter.com/yV4PO8DaIv
