UPDATE: SLU student critically injured, cause unclear

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -- updated 8 p.m. Thursday -- St. Louis Police now say the critical injuries suffered by the St. Louis University student found outside a Midtown apartment building Thursday morning are undeteremined. Investigators said earlier that she had been shot several times. The victim was found outside the five-story parking garage. Police say they found some of her belongings on the top level, but her injuries were not consistant with a long fall. updated 5 p.m. Thursday — A woman in her early 20's, who has been identified as a Saint Louis University student, was shot multiple times just west of the Saint Louis University campus.

Police say she was found at the entrance of the garage at the 3949 Lindell apartments near Lindell and Vandeventer around mid-morning.

Police say detectives found some of her belongings at the top of the five-story garage, but her injuries were not consistent with such a long fall. Her name has not been released. 

The victim's condition is "undetermined," according to police. Authorities also say they are not looking for anyone in connection with the case.

A statement issued to the SLU community Thursday afternoon from university President Fred Pestello said the student is being treated at a local hospital. The statement also said there is no information to indicate there is an ongoing threat.
