CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOX) - A man accused of trying to rob ATM workers in north St. Louis County January 7th was free on bond for committing a similar crime in late 2017.

St. Louis County Police announced Saturday that 21-year-old Decarlo Powell of Florissant faces second-degree murder and other gun-related charges in the death of his 19-year-old accomplice Jordan Pruitt.

ATM workers at Vantage Credit Union on Greenway Chase Drive shot and killed Pruitt. Powell fled the scene, allegedly firing shots at them.

Police say surveillance video and DNA link Powell to the scene.

Both Powell and Pruitt had their bonds reduced for the 2017 incident, over the state's objection. Both had since entered blind guilty pleas and were awaiting sentencing.
