ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -  A protest that began under the Arch continues this hour with a sit-in at the Wainwright State Office building downtown.

Pro-choice advocates are carrying signs saying "Shame on you, Governor Parson" for signing the heartbeat abortion ban, which gave Missouri among the most restrictive abortion policies in the nation.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson on Wednesday doubled down on the state's threat not to renew the license of the only abortion clinic in the state and said it would be "reckless" for a judge to weigh in until the state takes action.

Here is the full message that was posted on the Facebook event page:

"Just days after signing into law an extreme and dangerous bill that bans abortion after eight weeks, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has weaponized the health department to block the last remaining licensed abortion center from providing care in the state. Our right to abortion care is not debatable, and we will hold Gov. Parson and his extremist allies in the legislature accountable. Now is the time to stand up & fight back against this attack on our reproductive rights!"
