(KMOX) — Missouri's junior U.S. Sen. Republican Josh Hawley says social media companies don't need to be broken up, they need to be eradicated altogether.
In an op-ed published today in USA Today, he said, "Social media, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have done more harm than good and should disappear."
Hawley wrote that maybe social media is best understood as a parasite on quote, "productive investment, on meaningful relationships, on a healthy society," adding, "maybe we'd be better off if Facebook disappeared."
The social media giants have given us an addiction economy. Is that really “innovation”? America needs better https://t.co/usHqHgvBYK
