ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - As the classic joke goes, what's black and white, and red all over? The answer this Thursday will be Sister Mary Jo Sobieck at the St. Louis Cardinals game

The nun from Springfield, Ill. will be a special guest on the mound at Busch Stadium to throw a ceremonial first pitch. She made national news last year for her "perfect first pitch" at a Chicago White Sox game:

And it turns out, she's a huuuggee Cardinal fan – so she'll no-doubt being wearing as much Cardinal red as she can!

Last year, she joined KMOX's Mark Reardon to talk about the pitch and where he love for the Redbirds came from:

The Minnesota-native still loves her Twins, but she adopted her favorite National League team when she moved to Springfield, Ill., and joined the Dominican Sisters of Springfield in the early 1990s. A close friend she met there was a life-long Cardinals fan, and the pair would often drive to St. Louis and attend games at Busch Stadium.

"I had my American League team, now I can have my National League team," Sobieck says. "We still often go down there and we love Ballpark Village. We like to sit up there, across from the field to take in the games. We've come down there for the World Series just to take in the atmosphere. We love it."

Sobieck is a nun working at Marian Catholic High School in Chicago.

She was bragging about her air time on KMOX while talking to ESPN's Golice and Wingo show last year too:

Nice shout out to @Cardinals and @KMOXSports. We’ll take all the help we can get as the pennant race heats up. pic.twitter.com/BCfABXCIuu
