ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -- After a weekend of speculation about the fate of Southtown Pub, a popular bar and barbeque restaurant on South Kingshighway, owners say it won't re-open.
The business closed suddenly on August 1st without any explanation, by way of a brief message written on a sandwich board outside.
Apparently Southtown Pub closed yesterday. Was this completely random or planned?

August 5, 2019 Paul and Sam Perrigue wrote on Facebook that they overextended themselves with a planned expansion down the block.
"Unfortunately, we got ourselves in too deep to come back," they say.
Southtown Pub had been open for more than two decades. The Perrigues bought it ten years ago.
An auction of equipment is set for Thursday, August 8th.
