SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (KMOX) — The Roman Catholic Bishop of Springfield, Illinois is keeping a close eye on the St. Louis Blues march toward the Stanley Cup.

Bishop Paprocki gives his fellow goalie, Jordan Binnington, high marks for his work between the pipes.

"The first time I saw him play was in early January," said Bishop Paprocki.  "The Blues were playing the Montreal Canadians.  I went to that game because I do like to see goalies and Carey Price, the goalie for the Canadians, was in town and I wanted to go see him.  That was one of the first games Jordan Binnington played and he outplayed Carey Price which is really saying a lot."

It was after that win that Bishop Paprocki says the Blues started their winning ways.

"I don't know if my presence had anything to do with it," said Bishop Paprocki.  "But after I went to that game with a couple of priests, the Blues were in last place at the time and ever since then, the season has turned around."

Bishop Paprocki has authored a book combining his two loves — titled "Holy Goals for Body and Soul."

From June 17 thru the 19, he'll teach goalie skills to kids and serve as the chaplain for the annual Catholic Hockey Camp in Springfield
